First I want to thank Toddie and George for making the Blessing of the Animals worship service such a success.We had Coco, Molly, Diva, Franny, Beanie, Tuffy, and BB who got their own special blessing and of course dog treats! Entering into relationship: As you heard me preach on Sunday as Christ entered into relationship with us by leaving everything heavenly to be with us, so Christ wants us to enter into relationship with one another. I pray that you have been praying for who is the person that the Holy Spirit wants you to meet with. Who is it that you are to get to know better in our congregation? Remember, find time preferably face to face (but it can also be over the phone) to just talk about your story. You don’t have to tell everything! But tell things that you feel safe telling. This past Sunday I preached on God’s loving and unconditional covenant with us. God desires us to live in a loving covenantal community with each other within the church and with those who are our neighbors. And as we covenant together we should be able to say that love is the primary characteristic of our relationship together. As visitors come into Calvary the overriding feeling that they should feel is loved. Continue reading
